Reminder: Final Week of Curbside Yard Waste Collection

The City of Hamilton reminds residents that the week of December 2, 2024, is the last chance for curbside yard waste collection before the winter season.

Key Dates:

• Last Curbside Collection: Week of December 2, 2024 (on your regular collection day).

• Curbside Collection Resumes: March 3, 2025 (on your regular collection day).

• Christmas Tree Collection: January 6-10, 2025, and January 13-17, 2025 (on your regular collection day).

Yard Waste Drop-off

After December 6th, residents can dispose of yard waste for free at any Community Recycling Centre (CRC). This service is available throughout the winter months.

Why the Change?

This schedule is based on waste tonnage data, which shows that yard waste disposal peaks in mid-November and declines significantly as winter approaches.

Christmas Tree Collection

Christmas tree collection will remain unaffected by this change. Residents can leave natural Christmas trees at the curb during the designated collection weeks in January or drop them off at a CRC.
