Reporting Encampment Concerns

I want to ensure you know the correct people to contact if you encounter issues or concerns in our community. Safety in our communities is critical, and the police and I encourage you to contact Hamilton Division 3 with any safety concerns:



Here's a breakdown of the appropriate contacts for various situations that I hope you will find useful:



Tips

  • When reporting an encampment, please provide as much information as possible, such as the location, date, time, and any other pertinent details.

  • If you witness someone in distress or experiencing a mental health crisis, call 911 immediately.

  • Animal Services can be reached at 905-574-3433, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

  • For garbage, waste, and debris unrelated to an encampment, you can also submit a complaint online at https://www.hamilton.ca/city-council/by-laws-enforcement/register-by-law-complaint.

  • For open-air burning and potential fire hazards, call 905-546-2489 or email fire.prevention@hamilton.ca. If you believe a fire is spreading or an immediate response is required, call 911.

  • For non-emergency community issues, you can contact the Hamilton Police Service at:
