City of Hamilton Ends Significant Weather Event Declaration

The City of Hamilton has officially ended the Significant Weather Event declaration that was issued on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. The declaration was lifted as of Wednesday, February 26, at 9:00 a.m.

With this declaration lifted, the 24-hour cleanup period for the storm is now in effect.

If after Thursday February 27th at 9am your snow has not been adequately removed from the roads, please reach out to our office at ward11@hamilton.ca or call 905-546-2489 to create a service ticket.

The Significant Weather Event was declared due to heavy snow accumulation and high winds, which posed hazardous conditions for road users. As per Ontario Regulation 239/02, municipalities may declare a Significant Weather Event when weather conditions are expected to impact the safety and operation of roads maintained by the City.

The City thanks all residents for their patience and cooperation during the response and cleanup efforts.
