The City of Hamilton is undertaking a major infrastructure improvement project at the intersection of Upper James Street and Dickenson Road. This work is part of a larger city contract with Technicore Underground Inc. (C15-11-22(HSW)) which began in October 2022 and is expected to be substantially completed by November 2026.
What to Expect:
To facilitate the necessary sewer, watermain, and road reconstruction work, there will be temporary road and lane closures:
Full Closure: No access to/from Dickenson Rd E and Dickenson Rd W from/to Upper James from Friday, October 4th at 7:00 AM to Sunday, October 7th at 9:00 AM.
Lane Reductions: Lane reductions on Upper James will be in effect from Friday, October 4th at 7:00 AM to Sunday, October 7th at 9:00 AM.
Reopening:
Dickenson Rd W will reopen for traffic on Monday, October 7th at 9:00 AM.
Dickenson Rd E will reopen to local traffic only on Monday, October 7th at 9:00 AM.
Working Hours:
To minimize the overall duration of the project, construction activities will take place from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation.
