Trip back in time “Erland Lee Museum” offers Quilling (Paper Filigree)

Not sure what it is, well quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork.

The Erland Lee “Home” Museum is offering a Workshop on Monday September 17th from 10am until 12 noon in the Drive House at the Museum, 552 Ridge Road at the top of the Dewitt Mountain Access in Stoney Creek. Space is limited so don’t wait to reserve your spot. Call 905-563-7274 or email rstones@becon.org. The cost is $15.00 per person and this is a fundraiser for the Erland Lee Museum.
