Notice of Study Commencement and Phase 1 & 2 Report
THE STUDY
The Woodburn Road Bridge, spanning Twenty Mile Creek (between Golf Club & Guyatt Rd’s) is in need of a potential replacement.
THE PROCESS & PUBLIC CONSULTATION
The bridge improvements are being planned as a Schedule B (Phase 1 & 2) Municipal Class EA under the auspices of the Municipal Engineers Association Class Environmental Assessment (EA) – October 2000, as amended 2007 and 2011.
A Phase 1 & 2 Report, highlighting the alternatives considered and the evaluation process to identify a preliminary preferred alternative will be available for public review and comment. The Phase 1 & 2 Report will be available online, www.hamilton.ca/woodburnbridgeea.
The alternatives considered include bridge removal, replacement, rehabilitation, and “do nothing”. Each alternative will have varied impacts on traffic, cost, Twenty Mile Creek, safety, etc. The preliminary preferred alternative is bridge replacement.
